Jimmy Holt

Jimmy HoltJimmy Holt was born in Nashville, TN and attended Nashville public schools.  Jimmy went to work for the Nashville Tennessean Newspaper in 1952 as a News Photographer and later became the Fishing Editor for the Tennessean Sports Department.

He later began co-hosting the Tennessean Outdoorsman Show in Nashville on WDCN television, a public television station that was seen statewide.  It was featured on Good Morning America and former President Jimmy Carter asked to be on the show during a visit to Nashville.  The Tennessean Outdoorsman aired for over 30 years.

Jimmy has also worked for the State of Tennessee in the Department of Conversation’s State Parks Division, writing articles and promoting the recreational opportunities of Tennessee’s parks.  Jimmy is known all across the region as the “Tennessee Outdoorsman”.
