George Cochran

George Cochran grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  He spent his early childhood fishing off  the family's backyard boat dock and later fishing from a john-boat in the small lakes of Lakewood subdivision. George's most important fishing and hunting lessons were taught to him by his neighbor, Pete Jaworski. Pete taught George how to be patient to fish and hunt methodically.  The two were a team hunting and fishing together for forty years.  These early chapters  for George's life instilled the love and desire of being in the outdoors.  A love that has endured the ups and downs of fishing professionally and has given him an appreciation and respect for wildlife.

If one were to ask George, Which do you love the most fishing or hunting?  His answer would probably be hunting.  George spends the fall and winter months near Stuttgart, Arkansas duck and deer  hunting.  He has been a guest on several hunting shows throughout his career.  His most recent appearance was his first elk hunt which was considered the best  hunt of  George's life.  His hunting season is spent mostly with good friends and family.

Fishing professionally for twenty- eight years, George's accomplishments include winning the Bass Master Classic Championship in 1987 and 1996,  and the FLW Forrest Wood Cup Championship in 2005. George loves  his profession and loves competing.  If he is not in a tournament, he is fishing or hunting somewhere. George has stated that one of the rewards of fishing professionally is the lasting friendships with other fisherman such as Forrest Wood, Larry Nixon and many others.  George considers these friendships priceless. George lives near Lake Ouachita and LakeHamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He and his wife Debi of thirty-seven years are enjoying their first grand child Brinkley and time spent with their three children David, John and Lezley.
