Judy Wong

Judy is passionate about fishing and the outdoors and was able to turn her passion into a dream career. She contributes much of her success to her supporting husband Glenn and her fine sponsors, many of who she considers close friends.
Judy started bass tournament fishing in 1977 with the Bassn’Gal Tour, but took a 10 year hiatus to raise her son and discovered saltwater fishing, deer and waterfowl hunting to be great family adventures.
In 1989, Judy returned to competitive bass fishing competing on the Bassn’ Gal Tour, the Women’s Bass Fishing Asso. Tour, the Women’s Bassmaster Tour, the BASS Opens, the FLW Tour and the Stren Series.
In 2001 and 2002, Judy won back-to-back Women’s Bass Fishing Asso. World Championships and nearly had a 3-peat in 2003, finishing 2nd. Judy has won 2 other National tournaments and has qualified for 18 Classic Championships.
In 2007 & again in 2009, she won the Women’s Bassmaster Tour Championship. In 2008, Judy was honored by President George W. Bush with an invitation to the Oval Office. She feels this is the highest achievement of her angling career, but her most memorable and rewarding experience was visiting deploying and returning service men and women from Iraq, while in Germany with fellow anglers Gary Yamamoto and Roland Martin.
Judy has always made time in her career to participate in programs such as “Get Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs”, “Becoming an Outdoors Women”, and “any kid’s fishing events”. She feels being a product spokesperson is secondary to her being a positive and accessible role model for young girls and boys, and wants to see every child get the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors.
Judy is also an accomplished wildlife artist and was the 2008 Toledo Bend Bass Unlimited Poster Artist, creating an original painting and 250 prints, all of which have sold out. She presented President Bush with a framed print, along with her signature series American Rodsmiths rod and some hand-picked Yamamoto Custom Baits when she visited the Whitehouse.
