Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame Announces Ducks Unlimited as the 2010 Recipient of The American Outdoor Organization of the Year Award.

APRIL 27, 2010 – SPRINGVILLE, Tenn. – On March 23, 2010 Garry Mason, Founder and CEO of the “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame, visited Ducks Unlimited’s national headquarters in Memphis and announced that the organization would be the 2010 recipient of the “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame’s American Outdoor Organization of the Year award. Mason stated today that it was an honor for “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame to salute the achievements of such a great organization as Ducks Unlimited for its unwavering commitment to conserving North America’s wildlife habitat and safeguarding our outdoor heritage.
World champion duck callers and “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame members Buck Gardner and Mike McLemore were also on hand for the announcement of this outstanding award.

“Ducks Unlimited is truly honored to be considered for this award,” said Randy Graves, CEO/CFO of Ducks Unlimited. “To be a fellow recipient in such a true hall of fame in the outdoor world is a fitting tribute to the great work that all of us do for our beloved natural resources.”
The presentation of the 2010 American Outdoor Organization of the Year award will take place during the 9th Annual “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony to be held in conjunction with the Land and Wildlife Expo in Nashville, TN at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center on Saturday, August 14. The doors for this year’s event will open at 10:00 a.m., enabling guests to socialize with honorees and other “Legends of the Outdoors” members, and the banquet and awards ceremony will begin at noon.
Among the “Legends of the Outdoors” National Hall of Fame members scheduled to be on hand at this year’s event are Hank Parker, Alex Rutledge, Rob Keck, Brenda Valentine, and Gary Yamamoto. In addition to Ducks Unlimited, numerous others will be present to help welcome and induct this year’s class of inductees that currently consists of Judy Wong, Charlie Ingram, Peggy Vallery, and Jack Minor – posthumously, plus others.
Open to the public, the event offers individuals the opportunity to personally meet many of the outdoor sportsmen and sportswomen, in both hunting and fishing, who have helped set standards and guidelines for the rest of the outdoor world to follow.
