Curtis Fleming, raised the son of a coal miner and native of Bridgeport, WV, is the Founder/Host/Executive Producer of Fly Rod Chronicles with Curtis Fleming, an award-winning, internationally televised fly-fishing show. Going into their 19th season, Fly Rod Chronicles with Curtis Fleming airs in over 179 million households across North America and remains America’s most watched fly-fishing series on Discovery Channel, Pursuit Channel, Waypoint TV, Wild TV and many Digital Platforms. Prior to hosting the show, Curtis served 15 years in education working primarily with troubled youth as well as serving as President & CEO of a gas & oil company. Curtis is blessed with two lovely daughters, Laken & Autumn and a beautiful wife Shelly who all support and share his passion of fly fishing.
Through his Fly Rod Chronicles, Curtis’ passion for the sport, angling expertise and commitment to conservation reaches millions of viewers every year. His down-to-earth personality and his focus on faith, family and friendships provide excellent leadership examples for anyone who heads out on the water with a rod and reel.
Curtis has been inducted into Legends of Fly Fishing and the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachian’s Hall of Fames as well as Bridgeport High School and Fairmont State University’s Hall of Fames. He is a Fly Fishing ambassador for Bass Pro Cabela’s, Hatch Outdoors and YETI as well as an Outdoor advisor for the Outdoor Sportsman Group. Curtis has been recognized by esteemed associations such as the 2018 American Outdoor Sportsman of the Year, Expert Angler by Virginia Game & Fisheries, Episode of the Year and Best Show Host by Sportsman Choice Awards, Best Broadcast Show by WV Tourism Stars of the Industry Awards, as well as named one of the Best 55 Things to Happen to West Virginia. He was declared WV Angler of the Year and currently he and his family collectively hold 8 IGFA World Records and Multiple Inshore/Offshore IGFA Grand Slams. Curtis also is held in high regard for his receipt of the Honorary Project Healing Waters – Purple Heart Campaign Ribbon Fly Award.
He continues to advocate for conservation and the protection of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.
