Jack started his adult life in the electrical industry, and was in his 13th year with Eaton Corporation when the opportunity to join B’n’M was presented to him. So, he resigned his position, applied for a bank loan, moved back to Mississippi and began to live the American dream. He represents the 3rd generation of family ownership. For the last 21 years, he has worked to expand participation in crappie fishing all over the U.S. by working with local crappie clubs, outdoor communicators, national trails or anyone who would listen to him describe the benefits of the great sport of crappie fishing. To expand on these efforts, he also worked tirelessly to convince retailers of all sizes that crappie was, in fact, a viable market that should be supported with quality equipment on the shelf. Today, crappie products of all kinds are commonly found in most outdoor dealers across the country.

As the sport grew, so did the techniques to catch crappie. Knowing that his pro staff was comprised of the best crappie fishermen in the country, he listened to them to develop products for the new ways to catch crappie throughout the year. His ultimate goal was to illustrate that crappie season was every month of the year, not just during the spring spawn.

In recent years, B’n’M has successfully expanded into other markets, including catfish, trout, redfish and speckled trout. In 2022, B’n’M will celebrate its 75th birthday.

A native of Tupelo, MS and a graduate of Mississippi State University, Jack is married to the former Aubre Jordan and they share 4 children: Ivy Wilson Wells, Lucy Caroline Wells, John Jenkins Wells and Witt Barker Wells.
