Toxey Haas is so committed to hunting and the outdoors that he has left no leaf unturned.
Toxey is best known as the founder of Mossy Oak® Brand Camo, which was established in 1986.
Consumed by his desire to get closer to game, he took to the woods in search of dirt, sticks and leaves. To
get closer, he needed to become nature, to blend in with the surroundings in the areas where he hunted.
That fist full of dirt was the inspiration that built a camouflage company.
After 23 years and over 15 patterns, each improving as technology and printing improved, today Mossy
Oak boasts five major patterns: Break-Up®, Treestand®, Obsession®, Duck Blind® and Brush®.
Branches of the Mossy Oak Brand include Mossy Oak Properties, Mossy Oak BioLogic, Mossy Oak
Productions and Nativ Nurseries.
Toxey is blessed with a company that has become an outdoors lifestyle brand - a brand that aims to get
people outdoors whether hunting, planting or preserving.
Not one person can have success without support and encouragement. Toxey would not be where he is
today if it weren’t for his Dad, Fox. An avid hunter himself, Fox spent many a day outdoors teaching his
son about wildlife and hunting and he continues to advise and support Toxey as father and business
partner. Although Fox can be given credit for the obsession in Toxey, if it wasn’t for Evelyn Haas, wife
and mother, who spent countless hours sewing with Toxey’s first pattern, Mossy Oak wouldn’t be where
it is today.
Toxey is proud to have passed his passion for the outdoors on to his children, Sara Frances, Daniel and
Neill. Toxey and his wife Diane, his pillar from Mossy Oak’s beginning, live in West Point, MS.
